Since its establishment in 1996, our foundation has been consistently conducting both education and Thalassemia screenings in:
- Radio and television stations in Antalya and its surroundings
- Schools
- Municipalities
- Civil society organizations
- Villages
In 1998, under the coordination of our foundation, we initiated the "ANTALYA THALASSEMIA PREVENTION" project in collaboration with the Department of Public Health at Akdeniz University Medical Faculty and the Antalya Directorate of Health. This project continues with the collaboration of all public and civil society organizations on the subject. The incidence of new Thalassemia patients in Antalya has been reduced by 95%.
In 2003, for the Malaria Natural Selection Project, Thalassemia screenings were conducted in villages around the Köprüçay River.
In 2007, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Interior, and the Thalassemia Federation, the TALOTIR Project was implemented, providing Thalassemia education to 66,000 people in 26 cities within six months.
In 2007, in collaboration with the Ministry of National Education, formative training was provided to teachers from 33 provinces for Thalassemia education in schools.
In 2009-2010, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the Thalassemia Federation, training sessions were provided to healthcare professionals in 18 cities.
In 2010, with the support of the Antalya Governorship, an education campaign was conducted for village leaders. Training was provided to 540 village leaders and municipal marriage officers in a total of 19 districts.
The "Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Aksoy Project" was implemented in collaboration with the Antalya Governorship Provincial Health Directorate, the İbradı District Governorship, the Thalassemia Federation, the Akdeniz Blood Diseases Foundation, and the İbradı Foundation in memory of Professor Dr. Muzaffer Aksoy, who provided worldwide services in the field of blood diseases and Thalassemia. This project, titled "We Commemorate Our Teachers Where They Were Born," took place in İbradı on September 24-25, 2012.
In 2012, in collaboration with the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, education on Thalassemia was provided to women attending courses at ASMEK (Educational and Social Solidarity Centers).
In 2013, in collaboration with the Kepez Municipality in Antalya, education on Thalassemia was provided to women attending courses at AKMEK (Educational and Social Solidarity Centers).
In 2013, in collaboration with the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality and the Zeytinköy Association, a three-month free education, examination, and screening project was carried out in Zeytinköy in April, May, and June.
